Project Description
Commodore Barry Bridge Protective Islands
A.P. recently completed the protective islands at Commodore Barry Bridge for the DRPA in concert with the National Homeland Security.
The project consisted of the transportation and placement of over 300,000 cubic yards of armor rock around the two main towers of the bridge.
The man made islands were put in place to protect the towers from collision from ships and any moving vessel.
A.P. has been working with the DRPA, as well as the DRJTBC, BBBC and other bridge commissions, along the Delaware River to keep our bridges safe and up to current security standards.
